A Double decker just crashed 5 meters from my window!

As you know, I live in Southampton right now. Just a minute ago, a typical British double decker was decapitated by a 12" headspace bridge situated opposite to my window.

Huge bang-bang, and my camera caught frightened people, still remaining at the upper level! They probably saw the edge of the bridge coming closer and managed to hide under seats, otherwise, they would be decapitated as well.

Note the banner on the bus: scary and ironic...



Police & fire brigade came very quickly and fortunately everyone was OK, which still seems to be incredible. There is a lot of broken glass everywhere on the street and cars parked nearby.

Public transport has never used this road. I wonder if it was an unfortunate diversion or maybe driver's mistake? The funny part is that we park our car exactly in the place, where driver's cabin stopped and we did park there today, but were asked to move the car, because it was slightly blocking an entrance to the possession nearby... That was close!
