GMail - Right Side Labels

I'm so annoyed by this! Yesterday, Google changed GMail's look & feel — now we are forced to have our labels on the left side... Argh!!! And this is completely non-functional if you have more than just a few of them!

GMail Right side labels

I used labels (together with "skip-the-inbox" filtering) to keep the inbox clean and automatically move my mail under a proper label (=folder). Because I use more than 20 labels, it is now VERY frustrating to scroll up and down all the time, just to check for new messages :-(

So, there you have it Google, left side of our screens is clogged now, and right side is empty. Moreover, GMail's Drag & Drop Lab feature doesn't work with Google Calendar / Google Docs gadgets, and "Labels on the right side" extension disappeared completely. GMail is not functional or flexible anymore... Czytaj dalej... # 5 komentarzy

Dodawaj Diggnation do czytnika RSS!

Św. Mikołaj postrzelony w głowę (brutalne reklamy świąteczne)

Wszyscy piszą o świętach... Ba! Ja sam ciągle słucham Last Christmas Dżordża Majkela & Wham (hehe). W Glasgow sypnęło nawet na chwilę śniegiem - z deszczem oczywiście :-) I właśnie z tej okazji, wklejam 3 klipy, które zafundowały mi dziś dobry humor (bo śniegu nie cierpię). Well, not exactly e-mails - spam only. (Are they crazy, or something?). Said enough, now it's time for some pictures. Czytaj dalej... # 17 komentarzy

A Double decker just crashed 5 meters from my window!

As you know, I live in Southampton right now. Just a minute ago, a typical British double decker was decapitated by a 12" headspace bridge situated opposite to my window.

Huge bang-bang, and my camera caught frightened people, still remaining at the upper level! They probably saw the edge of the bridge coming closer and managed to hide under seats, otherwise, they would be decapitated as well.

Oops they did it again... (Google's UTF problem)

I wrote about spamming Google with UTF characters many times, so you should get the idea by now.

However, there is a new trend around. At first, I took it as a new feature described by Planet Google a few days ago (Someone wrote, that Google is going to put images from a site under corresponding results and now is testing displaying images inside AdSense units).

But I was so wrong. It's just another UTF spam, moreover it comes from Jogger!

Polish sex ads abusing Google. Again.

A few weeks ago I described the fancy way of AdWords/AdSense decorating, using special UTF characters.

It was later republished under Google Blogoscoped. You can read a comment there — a guy named MTO claims that Google contacted him and removed his UTF-enhanced ads. (At least we know they don't approve such behaviour)...

But it seems like Google, still isn't well secured against special UTF codes in ads. Czytaj dalej... # 6 komentarzy

A (nasty!) bug in Google Analytics?

Well, you didn't have to wait too long to read something really juicy on my brand new (refreshed) blog...

Today, I found a bug in Google Analytics. It seems to be possible to delete someone's profile and the entire data user gathered! After all, there is no known way (yet) to turn it back again and the account is totally unusable. (However, I hope Google do have a backup, otherwise I've lost a lot!) Virus marketing, error or just a funny footer? (Google Groups)

I participate in one of the (not so public, not Usenet type) Google Groups. Few weeks ago I noticed a strange footer in every post (sic!) sent to the group.

The footer is located at the end of each e-mail (two lines below user's signature) and looks always the same:

--~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~
-~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---

Disabling and enabling (even setting a new) footer option using the group management panel seems to have no influence on it. Czytaj dalej... # 8 komentarzy

Google Blogoscoped writes about AdSense UTF decorating

For those of you, who are visiting my blog via Google Blogoscoped, here is the post that describes mentioned discovery.

Unfortunately, the rest of my blog (exept Portable Opera Browser HowTo) is in Polish. Anyway you still may like to see some of my 3D pictures or Funny TV Commercials. ;-)

Is Google testing a new AdSense layout?

Yesterday I went through my reports generated by Google Analytics. Surprised by the amount of (IT?) employees (working in financial institutions all over the world) who regularly read me, I tried to search my posts against bank-related information. Czytaj dalej... # 11 komentarzy
